Aerial
Aerial is a captivating art form that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, contortion, strength & flexibility training while suspended above the ground. It challenges the body and mind, encouraging students to build confidence, coordination, and creativity as they perform fluid movements and dynamic tricks in the air. With a strong focus on safety and technique, aerial is both an empowering form of self-expression and an excellent full-body workout.
What Aerial skills do we offer?
We currently offer four main aerial styles. Aerial Sling, Lyra (hoop), Silks and Trapeze.
Aerial Sling
Aerial sling, also known as hammock, is a loop of fabric suspended from a single point. It offers a supportive and versatile introduction to aerial, allowing students to explore wraps, drops, spins, balances, and flowing transitions. Sling is ideal for building foundational strength and movement confidence while enjoying a fun, creative experience.
Aerial Silks
Aerial silks use two long lengths of fabric suspended from a single point on our portable rig. Students learn to climb, wrap, slide and drop through beautiful sequences that require strength, control, and flexibility. Silks are visually stunning and offer endless opportunities for both artistic and athletic expression.
Aerial Hoop
Aerial hoop, or lyra, is a circular steel apparatus suspended in the air. Students perform poses, rolls, beats, drops and spins both inside and around the hoop, developing strength, balance, and dynamic movement skills. It’s a powerful and elegant discipline that helps build aerial confidence.
Trapeze
Our static trapeze consists of a horizontal bar suspended by two ropes. Students explore a combination of strength-based tricks, balances, and creative transitions, building coordination and body awareness. Trapeze offers a solid foundation for aerial training and encourages playful exploration.
Do you offer exams in Aerial skills?
Yes!
For those students who may want to follow the circus and become professional artists, or even those who like to gain recognition for their hard work, we offer accredited exam opportunities in both aerial silks and aerial hoop. These structured assessments allow students to work towards clear goals, track their progress, and gain recognition for their hard work and skill development. Exams are suitable for a range of ages and levels, and are conducted in a supportive environment that encourages confidence and achievement.
